Structural Organization

Hello there....

I just wanted to let you know that I've been an admin on some other forums before, and one thing I noticed is a lack of organization in the structure of the place.

My suggestion is to organize it so its more streamlined and easier for new members to get around.

Kinda like this (just a general guideline):

So, are u trying to remodel this? I think its already organized and simple, few blablabla and that.
But i personally like some of the suggestions (i wont change the set organization but i may add some things), thanks for helping out, suggestions are always welcome.
I didnt get that offgrounds.

Now wait cause im busy enough and you might see new things.

In the above example, the "Offgrounds" section was just a subforum of the RP subforum. Like outside the school grounds.

Its for forum roleplaying. Do you know what that is?

Either way, depending on the way the admin panel is set up, things can become organized allowing subforums to be hidden until you enter the forum/subforum above it (much like its done on KC).

This alone leads to streamlining a forum. If you want, I can create an off-site example of what I mean for more of a visual. I just need to sign up for another forum to host.

anyway, i know what is rpg, its my favourite playing type, just dont know what u mean in a forum O.o

A forum Roleplay is a text based roleplay done within a forum. The structure of play is much looser and allows a greater deal of control and variation than standard RPG's because of the fact it is partially controlled by all players. The only thing you cannot control is another person's character (unless otherwise stated).

Each player crafts their own actions, as well as the actions of NPCs, storyline, and such in their own posts, and continues by alternating turns posting. There, however, is no defined turns for this, and is strictly done by either the actions that the players are using, or to add more elements to the storyline.

All in all, a forum RP is much like a collaborative story. There are many boards dedicated to these alone, with some boards being dedicated to RPing in a specific world or theme, such as an anime, show, or book.

I've done this before, and can vouch for it being fun (so long as all the players can keep RL an RP separate, and play correctly). I'm actually currently engaged in a Yugioh RP, and I'm fairly sure I can set it up here, if that's ok with the admins.

Okay. Honestly, this place is a mess and keeps getting worse with new stuff added.

I was an admin for a small time D-Gray Man RP site: http://dgm-rp.darkbb.com/forum.htm

I want you to have a look at the layout I had set up on there. You can also click on the forums and see the subforums underneath, as well as become a member temporarily to see how only people of certain membership status could see things.

Thats one of the few things I did well there, and I would like you to compare how the set-up there is to here.

I mean, the first test forum/threads are still here from when the place was first made. That should at least be deleted or changed to a test forum and moved. And the dorm rooms are taking up unnecessary space when it could be condensed into 4 threads rather than 4 subforums. And there are many parts on here you would have a difficult time finding when you first joined (I had no clue what the heck to do or where to post or anything like that when I first started up here. It was all a guessing game).


Also, feel free to join that place for real if you know about the D-Gray Man series. If not, just look at how its structured.
